About the Artist

Christine Haders - Biography

Christine Haders

My lifelong love of art has kept me inspired through the years as I've discovered different avenues to express my creativity. From a very young age I knew I was destined to study art. I received an Associates Degree in Fine Arts from Green Mountain College in Vermont and subsequently transferred to the University of Connecticut where I majored in painting - both oil and watercolor. After receiving my BFA, I apprenticed myself to a printer  who taught me the basics of pasteup with a triangle and a t-square. Once introduced to the computer, I became a MAC addict, discovered a talent for Graphic Design and followed that career path for 35 years until retirement. I still freelance on occasion but in the last several years I have renewed my interest in painting, particularly that of oils. I'm very fortunate to be able to divide my time between coastal Rhode Island and the low country of Charleston, South Carolina which are filled with wonderful vistas that provide great subject matter for both landscape and seascape painting. I am continually taking painting classes to enhance my skills. I also enjoy plein air painting  and have taken several summer classes through the Wickford Art Association.
